Description
We are a household of women in our 20s–30s renting a bright, open-concept townhouse near downtown Abbotsford. This is an intentional shared community home. We are seeking a like-minded roommate who values clear and respectful communication, contributes to shared household responsibilities and household care, and who appreciates both community connection and personal space. Our home is grounded in Christian values, and we are ideally seeking someone who feels aligned with and comfortable in this environment.

The private bedroom is located on the upper floor along with a shared bathroom and shared common living spaces: full kitchen, living room, laundry, balcony, and some storage. Street parking is available. Close to UFV and bus routes as well as Highway 1. Rent is $900/month (single occupant) with a one-year lease, utilities and internet included. No smoking, vaping, drugs, or partying. Must be comfortable with cats (we have one ESA cat; no additional pets are allowed).

If you’re interested and are open to participating thoughtfully in community living, we’d love to hear from you.

We are asking everyone who is interested to send us a short introduction about yourself, what you’re looking for in a shared home as well as the questions below so we can get to know you a little before setting up a viewing. We will only respond to messages that answer these questions:

1. What draws you to shared or community-oriented living?

2. What does community living mean to you in practice?

3. Shared living sometimes involves differences, misunderstandings, or tension. How do you typically respond when conflict or discomfort comes up in a shared space?

4. Our home values commitment and stability. How do you approach commitments like leases, shared responsibilities, or agreements, especially when things feel difficult or inconvenient?

5. What helps you stay regulated or grounded when life feels busy or overwhelming?

6. What kind of home environment helps you feel safe, settled, and able to show up well with others?

7. Shared living often includes people with different nervous system needs, communication styles, or ways of responding to stress. How do you typically approach understanding and respecting differences like these in a shared home?

8. Our home is grounded in Christian values such as respect, honesty, and care for one another. How does that land for you?
